My Experience of Organizing a Class Activity

Organizing a class activity is a challenging but rewarding experience that improves my organizational ability and teamwork spirit. Last month, our class decided to hold a class party, and the teacher asked me to be the organizer. At first, I was worried that I couldn’t do it well, but with the help of my classmates, I started to make plans. I discussed with my classmates about the time, place, programs and snacks. I assigned tasks to each classmate and supervised the preparation progress. On the day of the party, everything went smoothly, and all the students had a good time. This experience not only improved my organizational ability but also let me feel the power of teamwork. It taught me to communicate with others and solve problems together. It is a precious experience that helps me grow into a more responsible and capable person.

A Meaningful Volunteer Activity

Last weekend, I participated in a volunteer activity organized by our school—we went to a local nursing home to help the elderly. It was a meaningful experience that made me learn a lot. When we arrived at the nursing home, the elderly were very happy to see us. They greeted us with smiles, and some of them held our hands warmly. Our teacher divided us into groups: some groups helped the elderly clean their rooms, some groups chatted with the elderly, and some groups performed programs for them. I was in the group that chatted with the elderly. I sat next to an 80-year-old grandma, who told me stories about her childhood and her life. She talked about how hard life was when she was young, but she also said that she was happy now because she had good care and many people cared about her. I listened carefully and asked her questions, and she was very happy to answer. Some of my classmates sang songs and danced for the elderly, and the nursing home was full of laughter. We also brought so...

Senior Short Video Class

Last weekend, I volunteered to help in the community's senior short video class. Many old people wanted to learn how to shoot short videos, how to edit them, and how to post them on the internet. They wanted to share their life with their children. I helped them learn these things step by step. When an grandpa learned how to make a short video of his garden and send it to his daughter, he was so happy. I felt very happy that I could help them. It also made me realize that it's never too old to learn.

The Charm of a Countryside Trip

A countryside trip is a peaceful and meaningful experience that lets us get close to nature and feel the beauty of rural life. Last weekend, I went to the countryside with my family. The countryside is full of green fields, small rivers and cute animals. We walked along the path, breathed the fresh air and watched the farmers work in the fields. We picked fresh vegetables and fruits in the garden and ate delicious rural food. The countryside is quiet and beautiful, and the people there are kind and friendly. A countryside trip not only lets us enjoy the beauty of nature but also lets us experience the hard work of farmers. It teaches us to cherish the fruits of labor and appreciate the simple life. It is a precious experience that brings us peace and happiness.

The Joy of Joining the School Speech Club

Joining the school speech club is a valuable experience that helps me become more confident and improve my speaking skills. I used to be shy and afraid to speak in public. To change myself, I joined the speech club last semester. Every Wednesday afternoon, we practice speaking skills together: our teacher teaches us how to express ourselves clearly, how to make eye contact with the audience and how to control our tone. At first, I was very nervous when giving a speech, but with the encouragement of the teacher and classmates, I practiced hard. Now, I can give a fluent speech in front of everyone. Joining the speech club not only improves my speaking skills but also makes me more outgoing. It enriches my campus life and helps me grow into a more confident person.

My Hobby: Listening to Nature Sounds

My hobby is listening to nature sounds, which is a simple and relaxing way to get close to nature and relieve pressure. I often listen to the sound of birds singing, the sound of flowing water, the sound of wind blowing through the leaves and the sound of rain. I have a small recorder, and I often record these sounds when I go to the park or the countryside. When I am tired from study, I listen to these sounds, and I feel very calm and peaceful. Listening to nature sounds not only helps me relax but also lets me appreciate the beauty of nature. It is a hobby that brings me peace and joy, and it helps me keep a positive attitude towards life.

The Joy of Morning Reading

Morning reading is a wonderful habit that makes full use of the best time of a day and enriches our mind and knowledge. Morning is the time when our brain is most clear and energetic, so it is the best time for reading and memorizing. I keep the habit of morning reading for half an hour every day: reading English words and articles, Chinese ancient poems and excellent essays. Morning reading not only helps me remember knowledge firmly but also calms my heart and makes me energetic for the whole day’s study. It improves my reading and writing skills, broadens my horizons and lets me absorb wisdom from books. Many students waste the precious morning time by staying in bed or doing meaningless things, which is a big pity. Morning reading brings us joy and knowledge, making every day start with a full and positive state.
